Fusion Orchestra 2 is the second incarnation of critically acclaimed progressive rock band Fusion Orchestra, whose EMI album Skeleton In Armour is still much sought after.
Co-formed by original Fusion Orchestra guitarist and founder member Colin Dawson and keyboard player Ben Bell, the music of Fusion Orchestra 2 incorporates elements of rock, jazz and various other styles.
The band brings to life the original Fusion Orchestra music as well as offering new songs in the band's style but with the fresh influences of the talented new line-up.
December 2009: We've been keeping a lid on this for a few weeks now but we have some line-up news. Firstly, we need to say goodbye and good luck to Nick Daniel. Nick has been with us for a couple of years but commitments to other bands have meant that he is unable to continue with us.
Into his place steps none other than Dangerous Dave Cowell, bassist from the Skeleton In Armour line-up of the original Fusion Orchestra. Combined with the return of Alon Cohen on drums it's seen a surge in momentum in the band and we're looking forward to finishing off recording new material and getting out on the road to play it and Skeleton tracks live.
June 2009: After a long search, Fusion Orchestra 2 is pleased to welcome Alon Cohen on drums. Most recently before joining FO2 Alon was recording and touring with Passenger as well as playing sessions in London and around the South East.
Unfortunately, prior commitments mean he will not be able to step into the role fully until the end of the year, but after some concentrated rehearsing and writing with him, the band decided Alon was exactly the drummer FO2 needed and definitely worth waiting for.
April 2009: The site for the original Fusion Orchestra is now live. There are photos, press clippings, a band history and complete gig list.
March 2009: The new material is now essentially finished and there are some snippets of rehearsals both of it and the old material on our MySpace page. We're now auditioning for a full time drummer in preparation for recording the new album and more importantly get out on the road and playing some gigs.
